How far in advance should clients book your services?

Saturdays and peak wedding months March-July and October-December book quickly. So, I advise all potential clients to book quickly to make sure your date is reserved.

Do you provide on-location services?

Yes! All of our services are done on location. We bring everything to you, so all you have to do is relax and enjoy the pampering!

Why is the bride’s hair and make up more expensive?

The easiest way to explain this is time. The time that we spend with the bride is significantly longer than the time spent with bridesmaids/others. It goes beyond the time spent on the wedding day, from start to finish we spend an average of 3-6 hours working with each bride. This starts from initial contact to trial, communications, and all the way to follow ups after the wedding. Where as we only spend 30 minutes with each member of the bridal party on the day of the wedding. This is a very standard practice in the beauty industry when it comes to weddings.

Do you provide a package deal?

All of our services are à la carte.

Do you offer eye makeup only?

At Emma Collins Beauty, we are artists. Therefore, by providing partial makeup for our clients, compromises our artistry. We prefer to create a full look for our clients so that they receive the best end result possible.

Do you offer non-airbrush foundation?

Yes! We are happy to apply traditional liquid foundation that we carry in our makeup kit if you prefer that over airbrush.

What is airbrush make up?

This is where beauty meets technology. Airbrush make-up is a spray on technique resulting in the most natural finish available. It provides full coverage without the heaviness and texture of traditional make-up. Most importantly, the foundation sits on top of your skin rather than in it. Airbrush make-up lasts up to 12-16 hours, with no touch ups required. It is smudge proof and waterproof. Great for covering tattoos, rosacea, and dark spots. I highly recommend the airbrush make-up over the traditional make-up application as it offers a more softened, diffused look that gives you the "bridal glow". We use the Temptu Pro airbrush system, which is the choice for the top make-up professionals.

Is a trial required?

Trials are not required. However, we strongly recommend every client has one. During your trial you get to meet your artist and practice the look you want for your wedding day. After your trial we will take a photo of your hair and make up with a professional DSLR camera, then email it to you so you can see exactly what you will look like in your pictures on your big day. Then you can provide us with any feedback as far as what you loved about your hair and make up, or things that you might want to change for the big day! This ensures a 100% satisfactory rate for the day of and helps the day of run smoothly with no stress!

When should I book my trial?

Trials are recommended to be scheduled 2 months in advance.

What should I expect during a trial?

At a trial, we customize the hair and make-up look to suit you and your comfort level. If you do not know what you want, it is best to have a trial done. During your consultation, we will take in all of the considerations of your event elements (venue, theme, season, dress, hair accessory, jewelry, etc.) and help find the perfect look for you! We will also provide skin analysis and skin care recommendations to prep you for your big day! • Bring your hair extensions if you are wishing to wear them the day of your wedding. • Devote up to 4 hours for the hair and make-up trial. • Shampoo scalp and condition ends the day before. For textured curly hair, please have hair blown out/ smooth. • Have hair dried prior to my arrival. • Wear a white top for photo purposes. • Have your veil, hair accessories, tiara, earrings, etc. available to use. • E-mail/ text a self-photo and any desired hair/ make-up look to your stylist prior to trial. Pinterest is great for this!

What if I want to do a trial run to decide if I want to book your services?

You are more than welcome to book a trial run to decide if you want to book our services. Most people know just by looking at our work and past reviews that they want to book us, however if you are still unsure we can definitely book your trial run before hand. You will need to pay for your trial upfront and if you decide to book it will go towards your service on your wedding day.

What other services do you offer?

We provide hair and makeup services for engagements, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, day-after photos, boudoir sessions, maternity photos, professional head shots, and any other special events. We also offer hair and/or make up lessons available for individuals or large groups. This is great for parties!

Can I book services for the bridesmaids but not for the bride?

Yes, you may book services for the bridal party only. As long as you have enough services to meet the minimum amount required for booking, the services can be preformed on whoever.

What if I, my fiancé’, or a member of my wedding party doesn’t wear makeup or is intimidated by wearing makeup?

We are trained in several styles of makeup, from light men’s grooming to polished photoready makeup. Your artist will customize a look that makes you feel comfortable and fits your personal style. It is all about color theory and design. With any relationship, it will work best if you put your trust in us and we promise we will make you look great!

What are your sanitary methods?

All brushes and products are disinfected with a 99% isopropyl alcohol spray in between clients. We use disposable applicators when possible (mascara wands, lip brushes, etc.), and they are used once per client.

What type of products do you use?

We carry quality products that offer long lasting results. We mix and match products including but not limited to Temptu, MAC, Make Up Forever, Urban Decay, Stilla, Tarte, Too Faced, Becca, Laura Mercier, Lorac, NARS, and Benefit.

Is the make up waterproof?

Yes, the make up is waterproof and smudge proof. We use waterproof mascara, waterproof pencil/liquid eyeliner, and a face setting spray to seal the deal.

Do you offer hair extension?

We do not sell extensions, but we will apply the clients clip-in extensions as an add on. We recommend 100% human hair clip-in extensions. These are sold at most beauty supply stores.

Do you offer faux lashes?

Yes! We feel lashes make a big impact in pictures and we offer top of the line individual lashes for brides and strip lashes for bridesmaid. Lashes are provided as an add on service.

Do you stay for touch ups?

We provide touch ups before we leave, after everyone in your party has received their services. Touch-up services are available and billed in one-hour increments after the original services are completed. Rates are $150 per hour.

Can I add or remove services after I secure my date?

It is best to know how many services you will need when booking, but if this is not possible, you can add services up to 1 week before your wedding. Be advised that adding services may affect your timeline on the day of your event.

How long does it take do hair and makeup?

We will coordinate an arrival and completion time based on your party’s size and services with you or your planner. The average length of hair and makeup services for the bride is 2 hours to 2.5 hours, and for wedding party members 1 hour to 1.5 hours.

Can you service a large group or bridal party?

Yes, at Emma Collins Beauty we have an expert team of stylists and assistants that I will bring with me to accommodate all scheduled patrons. The amount of artists working is based on the services requested, as well as the time constraints. This can range from one to six artists. I will ensure that the bride and bridal party will be ready on time.

Do you travel, if so do you charge a travel fee?

Traveling is one of the things we love most about what we do! We do not charge a travel fee if your location is 60 miles or less from Saint Simons Island, Georgia. If your location is 60+ miles away we charge a milage fee and a hotel fee if necessary.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, we do require a deposit to hold your date. Your date will not be held without a signed contract and deposit.

Is your pricing negotiable, are there any discounts?

When it comes to hiring a professional makeup artist for on-location or personal services, you definitely get what you pay for! When you hire us, you are hiring an experienced professional that comes to YOU. The level of skill and expertise that you can expect is far superior to hiring your sister, other relative, friend or a cosmetic sales-person from the mall. We will however give you the best possible pricing and options that best suites you and your wedding.
